"As a former college professor, pastor, and now for 30 years, practicing as a licensed marriage/family therapist, I "thought" I knew myself and I "thought" I listened well. Step One: Managing Conversations

Here participants will be oriented in a fundamental principle of transformational leadership training.

By working from the view that human beings are a collection of conversations, rather than as "things" with "personality traits," participants will practice leading their clients to most capably reframe challenges opening new ways of relating to old problems.

Such practices powerfully equip the trainer to assist the client to access previously unrecognized resources in their personal and professional lives.

Step Two: Listening Knowledge and Skills

Practice and develop the communication, presentation, and coaching skills integral to being an effective trainer and an effective leader.

Particular attention will be given to the practice of identifying and gracefully challenging the pre-existing assumptions clients make about themselves, others they work with, and circumstances, as well as what possibilities are available.

Learn to listen for and directly impact the unspoken internal conversations of others.

Receive vital, practical coaching and experience on what to do and what not to do when training.

Step Three: Learning the Material

Begin internalizing the details of key learning modules within the Breakthrough in Leadership course. Set-up, delivery, and debrief will each be covered and practiced.

The secret of success? Practice and get coaching, then practice and get coaching, then practice and get coaching!

Stage Four: Putting it all Together

Receive valuable feedback and coaching as you practice delivering portions of the courses to a pre-arranged focus group.

For the manager, be trained on business practices necessary for transferring your new learning into your organization.

Receive your official Certification and License to deliver the work to your organization or clients*.

The model allows you to fully internalize, via real experience, the distinctions and ways of being of a highly effective corporate trainer. At the end of the Academy, you will not just know about you; you will become the trainer you are committed to being. "Knowing about" riding a bicycle is infinitely different from riding a bicycle -- at the end of the Academy you will have "ridden the bicycle"!
